Artist's Description
Golden morning sunlight bathes the vibrant orange leaves of a fallen tree by a tranquil lake. Wispy clouds stretch across a deep blue sky, reflecting in the water beneath the rising sun.
This fallen tree is one of dozens that were knocked down or broken in half around this lake, when Hurricane Helene ripped through Greenville, South Carolina. Even though this tree is down, it was still beautiful at sunrise this morning. I captured this moment of beauty with my iPhone on the campus of Furman University.
